Revolved Triangle Pose (Parivrttartrikonasana)
The Sanskrit word “Parivrtta” means to turn around and “trikona” means three angles. Thus the name of this pose, Parivritta Trikonasana, translates to Revolved Triangle Pose in English. It is a standing pose, a revolved twisting pose, and a balancing pose.

How to perform the Revolved Triangle Pose (Parivrttartrikonasana):
- Start the asana with the Dog pose (Adho Mukha Svanasana) put the right leg about one meter forward.
- Keep your hands next to your foot and carry your weight with the lower back on the heel of the foot in front and raise your upper body until your back is straight.
- Remaining in the same position, twist your left foot diagonally with the heel toward the ground.
- Grasp your ankle with your right hand, you will feel that the lower back carries your weight and due to which you hardly rest on your right hand.
- Stretch the leg which is in front without bending the back or twisting your body. With your back straight and your right hip stretched backward, look at a point on the ground and breathe-in and out quietly.
- Press your left hand against the ankle or your lower leg and twist the upper body to the right and upward. If you cannot twist any further, stretch your right hand upward.
- Then twist your head to the right and upward, look upwards along your arm and stretch out your neck.
- Hold the posture anywhere between 30 seconds to 1 minute.
- Return back to step #1 and repeat the asana with your left leg in front.
