Peacock Pose (Mayurasana)
“Mayur” is a Sanskrit word means Peacock. The posture assumes the shape of a Peacock hence it is called Mayurasana.

How to perform the Peacock Pose (Mayurasana):
- Kneel down on the floor with the knees apart and place your head and chest slightly forward. Now place the palms on the ground so that fingers point towards the feet and elbows kept firmly pressed against navel point of the abdomen.
- Stretch your legs backward and lower the head in order to touch the ground and simultaneously try to raise both legs from the ground. While doing so your pals will support your entire body.
- Stretch your whole body and keep breathing, while keeping the entire body horizontal to the ground.
- Hold the asana for 5 to 10 seconds and gradually increase the time to 30 seconds.
