Mushrooms are an excellent source of Potassium. A 3-ounce portabella mushroom cap provides more potassium than banana or an orange. Then, mushrooms are low on sodium and fat. Indians are prone to hypertension and heart disease, so eating mushrooms will help you lower your risk.

Not only that, mushrooms can help you lose weight- Mushrooms contain 80%-90% water weight, so they are filling and low in calories. Also, they have low carbohydrate content, so its great for those on a low carb diet. In a study published in the journal Appetite, subjects ate a variety of typically meaty dishes or with mushrooms for one week each. They downed 420 fewer calories on average at each mushroom meal (and they found the meals equally tasty).

Besides this, mushrooms are a great source of Vitamin B and Selenium- which works with Vitamin E to protect skin damage.

If you’re not sure how to cook mushrooms, here is the world’s Simplest Mushroom Recipe: Lightly saute them with olive oil and onions. Add salt and pepper to taste.

    I also love mushrooms I have just started to eat well and diet to lose weight and mushrooms I have started to eat more of I too put alittle olive oil in bottom of pan and cut up bell peppers and Lightly saute them together with alittle bet of mrs Dash once that I steam all together is alittle water as well heat two corn tortillas and make two tacos like that with nothing else added it is very filling and I dont fill a bet hungry afterwards.drink alot of water as well as walk alot and I am seeing results in just doing that for last past few days so keep it up mushrooms are great and good and you will feel full not hungry and you will also feel refreshed after eating them
